Debanjana Bhattacharjee, originally from Mumbai, India, moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2015 from Texas. She holds a bachelor’s in mathematics from the University of Mumbai and a postgraduate diploma in Modern and Contemporary Indian Art History from the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Mumbai.

An en plein air painter, Debanjana captures fleeting outdoor moments as immediate, expressive reactions to her surroundings. She is often seen painting the sunrise in Myrtle Beach during the summer.

She works in acrylic, oil, and gouache, choosing each medium based on the needs of the subject.

Debanjana is a juried member of Oil Painters of America (OPA) and a member of the American Impressionist Society (AIS). She is represented by Sunset River Gallery in Calabash, North Carolina; Seacoast Artists Gallery and William H. Miller Fine Art Studios in Myrtle Beach; and Georgetown Art Gallery in Georgetown.
