Mary L. Hoffman has been drawing and painting since early childhood and pursued a career as a professional artist. Known for her portraiture, she funded her studies at the Cleveland Institute of Art through commissions, earning her BFA in 1989.

For over 30 years, she has been commissioned by CEOs, sports figures, actresses/models, universities, and collectors worldwide for oil paintings and charcoal portraits.

After graduating, she exhibited with the Dayton Society of Painters and Sculptors, earning “Best of Show” along with multiple awards.

After moving to South Carolina in 1991, she taught drawing and painting classes and continued her portrait business. In 1998, she expanded into mural commissions for businesses, churches, and private homes, and in 2005 discovered plein air painting.

Today, Mary combines portraiture and still life with plein air work, traveling to festivals across the Eastern United States. She lives in South Carolina with her husband and two children.
