Monthly Paint Out Host Protocol
We have a few open months on the calendar this year and welcome members who would enjoy suggesting and hosting a paint out location. If no one volunteers, the leadership team will select a site as usual. Hosting is simply an opportunity to share a place you enjoy!
Location Requirements
All proposed locations must meet the following:
• Public space or written permission from the property owner
• Free access
• Restroom nearby
• Adequate parking close to the painting area
• No long walks or difficult terrain
• Easy vehicle access
• Strong visual interest for painting
Host Responsibilities
The host is responsible for:
• Securing permission if required
• Verifying restroom access and parking
• Selecting a start time, typically a two to three hour window
• Being present at the start time to welcome members
• Briefly orienting attendees with parking tips, restroom location, and helpful viewpoints upon arrival
The host is not required to:
• Teach
• Demonstrate
• Organize critiques
• Provide refreshments
• Stay the entire duration, though it is encouraged.
Communication
Hosts should:
• Submit location details at least 2 weeks in advance
• Provide the address, parking instructions, and restroom information
• Share any helpful notes such as shade, surfaces, terrain, or seasonal considerations
