Christopher Taylor✧

C Taylor Headshot.png

I am an oil painter who loves to make connections and share experiences, and those elements are what fuel the motivation behind the pieces I paint. While most of my work stays within impressionistic landscapes and expressive florals painted with oils, you may see the occasional portrait in the mix.

Donna O'Hara✧

In my education, I have explored several different media and ways to create. I have always needed to work with my hands whether it be clay, textiles, glass, or paints. I have had success with many but none have captured my heart as the feel of a buttery, soft stick of pastel rubbing across a surface making sense of what I am witnessing in front of me. Landscapes seem to be at the forefront of what I see so I look for those contrasting values or the drama of a composition which demands my attention. This is my focus and hope for each piece I begin!

Lynda Evans

Lynda has always loved art. The talent runs widely in many generations of her family. In retirement she started to paint and was quite successful within a very short time. Having had two large best selling solo exhibitions in Pennsylvania before moving to the Greenville area, she set the pace for a busy and creative lifestyle. Being a part of a Plein Air painting group in Pennsylvania brought new challenges and many lessons learned. She is happiest when creating a work of art.

I am inspired by light and color. I strive to create works of art with captivating contrasts in value and vibrant color combinations. My paintings currently consist of capturing coastalscapes and still life. Big cumulus clouds above a marsh or beach and florals next to some Charleston Farmers Market finds are like shrimp to my grits. My focus remains making every brushstroke expressive and intentional. I live and create from my studio located in Charleston, SC. But I often take my traveling studio out en plein air wherever my heart's eye leads me on a sunny day... with extra fluffy clouds, of course.

I am primarily oil painter and create commissioned portraits and other representational work. My style is painterly realism in which the hand of the artist is evident through expressive brushstrokes, mark making and selective rendering. Holding a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of art, I studied both medical illustration and portrait painting. Currently, I spend my time painting and teaching classes and workshops.

I love it when people tell me that they can feel the temperature and the atmosphere of the place I’m depicting in my paintings. That is my aim, to allow others to sense what it is that inspired me as I walked down the street in a, beautiful place such as a garden, downtown Greenville or Charleston coastal marshes. When deciding on a scene to paint I will always find myself “drawn to light “ in a place.
