I strive to lure the viewer into wanting to "be there" in the painting to look for what is not obvious.

This journey we call life I believe is the ultimate form of art and my mission is to reflect this journey in my artwork in hope of creating a deeper connection and awareness to its mysteries and wonders. I’m inspired by observing nature and its nuances of color, light, edges and textures. I focus on capturing these nuances from life and paint from nature on location. In my art I wish to give praise to my Creator, the Artist of this beautiful universe. It is always a humbling experience when studying from nature or the human form and through it the mysterious great Intelligence is seen. I attempt to capture it all, to the purest form, to the best of my ability a brushstroke at time.

April Huguenin

I am an impressionist oil painter and a native of South Carolina. While I enjoy painting most subject matter that nature provides, I am most inspired by sunsets and nocturnal scenes. Whether traveling or at home, many evenings are spent chasing down the kaleidoscope of colors and shapes in the night sky! My passion lies in trying to capture the drama of the light against the dark clouds, and the reflections of light on land or sea below. Using a combination of palette knife and brushes, I strive to create lots of texture and energetic brushwork to translate Gods astounding beauty onto the canvas. Collectors have said my art is "a feeling they get in their heart." That is the highest compliment I could be paid and the most I can strive for as an artist.

I often admire the greatest Artist who created everything. Watching the world around me, I try to convey what I see and share with others, the beautiful creation. When I look at the sunset every day, I see that each time it is original and unique. And I just want to tell everyone around me, hey, wait, stop, see how great it is. And in my work I try to capture that moment, feelings, and emotions through color and composition. These moments may never happen again that is why they are so much more beautiful. Life is beautiful and so are you!
